Commercial Asphalt Paving

Residential Asphalt Paving
For typical residential driveways, an aggregate base layer of 6 to 8 inches of compacted crushed aggregate is applied on top of the subgrade. This is followed by approximately 2 inches of dense-graded HMA base and 1.5 inches of HMA surface.
Chip And Seal
Chip sealing is a thin film of heated asphalt liquid sprayed on the road surface, followed by the placement of small aggregate (“chips”). The chips are then compacted to orient the chips for maximum adherence to the asphalt, and excess stone is swept from the surface.
Overlays
We put a layer of new asphalt applied over the existing base layer of asphalt on a driveway, parking lot or road. These new layers are generally about 1.5 to 3 inches thick, depending on the demands on the asphalt and the depth of surface asphalt removed.
